Brian Santiago Named New BYU Athletic Director
Brigham Young University has appointed Brian Santiago as its new athletic director, following the retirement of Tom Holmoe after 20 years of leadership. Santiago, who began his BYU career on the men's basketball coaching staff in 1997 and later served as deputy athletic director, has longstanding ties to the university and its alumni. BYU President Shane Reese praised Santiago's commitment to the university's academic and spiritual mission. Santiago will be responsible for implementing new revenue-sharing plans and overseeing key operations for BYU Athletics. His official introduction as athletic director will take place at a press conference. The transition maintains continuity within the department amid changes in college athletics.
