Lt. Joshua Cornblit of the Broward Sheriff’s Office Fire Rescue and his wife, Meilin Cornblit, were arrested following a hit-and-run incident at a restaurant parking lot in Weston. After drinking, Joshua Cornblit allegedly backed their GMC into an occupied Lincoln and fled without providing his information, while witnesses confirmed he was driving. Deputies located the vehicle nearby, finding Meilin in the driver's seat and Joshua stumbling on the sidewalk with signs of intoxication, including bloodshot eyes and the smell of alcohol. Joshua Cornblit faces charges including DUI, DUI with property damage, and leaving the scene of an accident, while Meilin faces DUI and possession of a controlled substance charges. Neither had appeared in the online jail database at the time of reporting, and no details were released regarding injuries to the other vehicle's occupants. Joshua waived his bond court appearance, and further legal proceedings are pending.
