Tadej Pogacar Wins World Road Race in Zurich

Tadej Pogacar made history by winning the men’s elite road race at the World Championships in Zurich, becoming the first male cyclist since 1987 to achieve the 'Triple Crown' of the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia, and the World Championship in a single season. The 26-year-old Slovenian broke away with 100km left of the 273km race, ultimately finishing 34 seconds ahead of Australia's Ben O'Connor, with Dutchman Mathieu van der Poel taking bronze. Pogacar's victory came after a dominant solo ride, maintaining his lead despite a late chase by Olympic champion Remco Evenepoel and others. This historic win marks a significant milestone in Pogacar's already illustrious career.
