Hunt Limited; Pacheco, Smith, Mitchell Could Step Up
Kansas City beat Las Vegas 31-0 in Week 7 and will host the Washington Commanders on Monday Night Football. Running back Kareem Hunt suffered a knee bone bruise (also listed with an ankle issue), missed Thursday's practice and was a limited participant Friday, leaving his Monday availability uncertain. If Hunt is limited or inactive, Isiah Pacheco, rookie Brashard Smith and potentially Elijah Mitchell are expected to shoulder a larger workload. The Chiefs could also be without offensive linemen Trey Smith (low back spasms) and Josh Simmons (personal/family reasons), with Mike Caliendo and Jaylon Moore expected to step in. Coach Andy Reid said the team is focused on recovery and preserving offensive continuity amid injury concerns and below-average run-blocking metrics.
