A 1979 Ford Ghia Probe I Concept Car, valued at approximately $1 million, was destroyed in a trailer fire on Highway 1 in Monterey after being showcased at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. The fire erupted around 7 p.m. on Sunday, reportedly sparked by a crash on the highway, and quickly engulfed the trailer, although firefighters managed to contain it to prevent further damage to surrounding vegetation. The Scott Grundfor Company, which owned the vehicle, expressed their grief over the loss, emphasizing their gratitude that no injuries occurred among their team. Fire personnel, alongside Cal Fire and local law enforcement, responded to the incident, with one firefighter sustaining minor injuries during operations. The total estimated loss from the fire is around $1,028,300, and the cause remains under investigation.
