Suspect Arrested After Attempted Sexual Assault on CTA Yellow Line Train Evanston

Evanston police arrested a suspect following an attempted sexual assault on a CTA Yellow Line train early Friday morning. The suspect approached a female victim from behind, tried to forcibly undress her, and when she resisted, pulled her to the floor and struck her multiple times before fleeing the train on foot. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and was later released. The suspect boarded the train at the Howard Street CTA Station in Chicago and remained on board until the unprovoked attack. Police released surveillance photos and descriptions of the suspect, a thin-built man in his 20s to 30s, about 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall, and sought public assistance in locating him before the arrest. Charges are pending, and the investigation remains ongoing.
