LaPlace Man Arrested After Body Found in Trunk

Tyler Bourgeois, 20, of LaPlace was arrested Saturday night, Sept. 27, and booked on a second-degree murder charge after deputies say they found a body in the trunk of his car. The victim was identified as 21-year-old Tylen Anderson of LaPlace; authorities say the body was discovered during the arrest around 10 p.m. Officials with the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office have not disclosed Anderson’s cause of death or how deputies came to search Bourgeois’ vehicle. Sheriff Mike Tregre is scheduled to provide more information at a news conference Monday. The case is under investigation, and Bourgeois is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
