Suspect Arrested in 2020 Murder of Pregnant Woman in Maryland

Edward Robinson, 31, has been charged with two counts each of first- and second-degree murder in connection with the 2020 shooting of Rabiah Ahmad, who was 28 weeks pregnant at the time, and her newborn daughter Ahja, who died shortly after delivery. The incident occurred when multiple bullets were fired into a residence on Dovecote Drive in Columbia; police believe Ahmad was not the intended target. Following a tip, investigators linked Robinson to a dispute with other residents at the home and found a firearm at his residence that matched the caliber of bullets used in the attack. Police Chief Gregory Der stated that the arrest provides some closure for Ahmad's family after years of uncertainty.
