Amazon India chief

Manish Tiwary, Amazon’s Country Manager for India, has announced his resignation, effective October, to pursue opportunities outside the company. Tiwary has led Amazon's operations in India since 2020 and has been credited with establishing Amazon.in as a preferred marketplace. His departure comes at a challenging time for Amazon, which is investing $26 billion in India by 2030 amidst fierce competition from Walmart-owned Flipkart and ongoing antitrust investigations. Amit Agarwal, Senior Vice President for emerging markets, will maintain close involvement with the India team to support continuity during this transition. Despite the leadership change, Amazon reaffirmed its commitment to the Indian market, highlighting its importance for future growth. The company has yet to announce a successor for Tiwary's position.
