Newark Teacher Laura Cuevas Dies After Car Accident

Laura Cuevas, a 66-year-old art teacher from East Ward Elementary School, has died from injuries sustained in a tragic car accident outside Arts High School in Newark on October 23. The collision involved two vehicles, one of which lost control and struck Cuevas, pinning her against the school wall. Emergency responders transported her to University Hospital, where she passed away on Saturday after being taken off life support. Another teacher and the drivers involved sustained minor injuries and were treated at the same hospital.
