Thirty pilgrims from Tamil Nadu's Cuddalore district, stranded in Uttarakhand due to a landslide, have been safely evacuated and are currently being moved to New Delhi before returning home. The rescue operation, which included airlifting the pilgrims to a safe camp in Dharchula, was coordinated by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin and Uttarakhand officials. The pilgrims were provided with food and water during their ordeal. The landslide, which occurred on September 13, also affected additional pilgrims from Punjab and Delhi, totaling 46 individuals rescued. Tragically, one pilgrim from Punjab died due to illness during the rescue operation, highlighting the challenges faced. Both state governments emphasized their commitment to ensuring the safety and timely return of the stranded individuals.
