Former Girardi CFO Pleads Guilty to Fraud

Christopher Kamon, the former chief financial officer of Tom Girardi's disbarred law firm, has pleaded guilty to two counts of wire fraud, admitting to embezzling funds from client settlement accounts alongside Girardi. Kamon agreed to forfeit $3.1 million and faces potential sentencing guidelines of up to 40 years in prison. His plea follows Girardi's conviction for a similar scheme where he stole at least $15 million from clients over a decade. Kamon acknowledged that he and Girardi regularly collaborated to misappropriate client funds, often transferring money from trust accounts to cover firm expenses. Girardi, who is suffering from dementia, attempted to shift responsibility to Kamon during his trial. Kamon's case is part of a larger investigation into the financial misconduct at the now-defunct Girardi Keese firm.
