27-Year-Old Man Dies After Water Rescue at Naperville Centennial Beach

A 27-year-old man was found unconscious in the water at Centennial Beach in Naperville on Thursday evening and was transported to Endeavor Health Edward Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Naperville Park District confirmed the incident occurred around 6 p.m. and declined to provide further details out of respect for the family and pending investigation. Following the tragedy, Centennial Beach was closed on Friday. Authorities have not released the man’s identity or additional information about the circumstances leading to the incident. The Naperville Police Department referred inquiries to the park district, whose Executive Director was unavailable for comment. Emergency crews, including divers, responded promptly to the scene at the artificial beach located at 500 W. Jackson Ave.
