Authorities averted a major accident when the Kalindi Express hit an LPG cylinder placed on the tracks in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The loco pilot applied emergency brakes, but the train still struck the cylinder, which was then dislodged from the tracks. Additional police forces and forensic teams have been deployed to investigate the suspected sabotage attempt, with several individuals detained for questioning. Items recovered from the scene include a bottle of petrol, matchboxes, and a small amount of explosive powder. The train remained at the incident site for approximately 20 minutes and was later inspected again at Bilhaur station. Multiple FIRs have been lodged under various legal statutes, and authorities are actively seeking the perpetrators.
