Westerville North claimed the OHSAA Division II boys basketball championship with a decisive 78-46 victory over Massillon Perry, marking the school's first state title in 31 years. Led by Micah Young's 24 points and Tai Perkins' 19, the Warriors showcased their aggressive, fast-paced style, forcing 27 turnovers and converting them into 37 points. The team started strong, leading 23-8 after the first quarter and never trailing throughout the game. This victory capped a remarkable season for Westerville North, who finished with a 25-2 record and a 24-game winning streak. Head coach Shan Trusley emphasized the importance of community support, noting the significance of the win for the Westerville North community. Massillon Perry, despite their postseason run, ended the season with a 14-14 record, becoming the first team to reach the state tournament with 13 losses since 2005.
