Former NFL head coach Jack Del Rio resigned from his position as a senior advisor to Wisconsin football head coach Luke Fickell following an arrest for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. The incident occurred early Friday in Madison, Wisconsin, where Del Rio's vehicle struck a street sign, broke a fence, and came to rest in a yard. Witnesses pointed officers to Del Rio, who showed signs of impairment and admitted to driving the vehicle. Del Rio, who joined Wisconsin's staff in August, previously served as head coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Oakland Raiders, and as defensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders. Wisconsin Athletics issued a statement acknowledging the incident and emphasizing the seriousness with which they take such matters. The Badgers are preparing for a game against top-ranked Oregon following their bye week.
