Police Arrest Man, Seize £300,000 Cash in Newry

A police pursuit outside Newry on September 16 led to the arrest of a 44-year-old man and the seizure of over £300,000 in cash from his vehicle. Officers from the Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) Intercept Team attempted to stop a black Audi, which fled at high speeds through heavy traffic onto the A1. The pursuit concluded with the car being brought to a controlled stop, after which the cash was discovered during a vehicle search. The driver was arrested on multiple charges, including failing to stop for police, dangerous driving, and possessing criminal property.
