EF-0 Tornado Causes Crop, Dugout Damage in Lancaster County
An EF-0 tornado with peak winds of approximately 70 mph touched down near Quarryville in Lancaster County on the evening of September 4, 2025, confirmed by the National Weather Service (NWS). The tornado was brief, lasting about a minute and traveling 0.15 miles with a maximum width of 30 yards. It lifted the roof off a dugout at the Solanco Youth Baseball Association, crossed Kirkwood Pike, and caused crop damage north of Encounter Church before lifting near a wooded residential area. No injuries or fatalities were reported. The NWS classification of the tornado as EF-0 corresponds to wind speeds between 65 and 85 mph.
