Multiple US Communities Offer Free Back-to-School, Sports Physicals

Several community health centers and organizations across the United States are offering free or low-cost sports and school physicals for students in preparation for the upcoming school year. Goodwin Community Health in New Hampshire will provide free physicals on August 9 as part of a wellness event open to all children and teens, whether they are patients or not. Delaware's Division of Public Health is holding back-to-school physical clinics the first week of August in each county, with a maximum out-of-pocket cost of $20 and acceptance of insurance. In Michigan, MyMichigan Medical Center West Branch partnered with Ogemaw Hills Free Methodist Church to give 258 students free physicals and additional screenings over two days, emphasizing community support and access to care. CommonSpirit will host walk-in sports physical clinics in Silverthorne on August 15 and 23 for youths aged 10 to 18, requiring no appointments. Additionally, the Indianola Community Free Clinic will provide free sports physicals on August 5 and 9 for students returning to fall activities, highlighting broad efforts to ease financial burdens and ensure safe participation in youth sports.
