Nintendo Switch 2 Enables Auto-Upload Screenshots, Videos to Mobile App

Nintendo has updated its Switch Online mobile app, renaming it the Nintendo Switch App and adding support for the upcoming Switch 2, which launches on June 5th. The new app update introduces a highly requested feature that allows Switch 2 users to upload screenshots and videos directly to the app via cloud storage, with the option for manual or automatic uploads of up to 100 files stored for 30 days. This marks a significant improvement over the original Switch, which required a cumbersome process involving QR codes and temporary Wi-Fi connections to transfer media. Users can save uploaded content to their device's camera roll for permanent storage, but files exceeding the 100-item limit will overwrite the oldest content. Additionally, the app includes notifications for GameChat invitations and features for Zelda games, enhancing the overall user experience. This update aligns the Switch 2 closer to the cloud storage capabilities seen on Xbox and PlayStation, addressing a long-standing user demand.
