Cleveland Browns Sign UFL Leading TE Sal Cannella

The Cleveland Browns have signed tight end Sal Cannella, who led all UFL tight ends in receiving yards during the 2025 season with the Arlington Renegades. Cannella, 28, has had multiple offseason stints with NFL teams including the Dolphins, Packers, Seahawks, and Buccaneers but has yet to secure a spot on a regular-season roster. He has gained notable experience and accolades in spring football leagues, including the USFL, XFL, and UFL, where he earned All-League honors multiple times and contributed significantly to his teams' successes. Despite competition from established Browns tight ends, Cannella's size and production could make him a valuable red zone target for the team. The Browns released Tre’ McKitty to make roster space for Cannella. His signing reflects the Browns' effort to bolster their offense, which ranked last in NFL scoring last season.
