Apple Delays MacBook Pro, Plans Budget MacBook

Apple is developing a low-cost 13-inch MacBook using the A18 Pro chip from the iPhone 16 Pro, expected to launch as early as late 2025 or early 2026 and aimed at students and budget-conscious buyers. The device will feature a lightweight design and come in multiple colors, similar to the iMac, but will rely on standard USB-C ports due to the lack of Thunderbolt support in the A18 Pro chip. Its performance is anticipated to be comparable to the M1 chip, marking a shift from Apple's usual use of M-series processors in Macs. The next-generation MacBook Pro with the M5 chip has been delayed to the first half of 2026, ending a 19-year streak of annual MacBook Pro updates. Apple also plans a busy 2026 with updated iPad models, the iPhone 17e, and a new external Mac monitor. These changes reflect Apple's strategy to broaden its product range and address diverse consumer needs.
