Nicole Kidman Confirms Practical Magic 2 Production Wrap

Nicole Kidman announced that filming for "Practical Magic 2," the sequel to the 1998 cult fantasy comedy, has wrapped, sharing a video of herself and Sandra Bullock walking hand in hand into the sunset. The sequel, directed by Susanne Bier and set to release on September 18, 2026, will see Kidman and Bullock reprising their roles as the Owens sisters, Sally and Gillian, who come from a lineage of witches cursed in love. The film is based on Alice Hoffman's 2021 novel, continuing the story from the original 1995 book. Returning cast members include Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing as the sisters’ aunts, with new additions such as Joey King, Maisie Williams, Lee Pace, Xolo Maridueña, and Solly McLeod joining the ensemble. The screenplay is co-written by Akiva Goldsman and Georgia Pritchett. Despite the first film's modest box office performance, it gained cult status on home video, generating excitement for the sequel among fans.
