Drew McIntyre Cast in Highlander Reboot
Drew McIntyre has been cast as Angus MacLeod, brother of Henry Cavill’s Connor MacLeod, in Chad Stahelski’s Highlander reboot for Amazon MGM Studios’ United Artists. The film’s ensemble includes Russell Crowe, Marisa Abela, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Max Zhang and Dave Bautista; Michael Finch is credited as screenwriter and producers attached include Scott Stuber, Nick Nesbitt, Neal H. Moritz, Josh Davis, Louise Rosner and 87Eleven, with Lionsgate also reported as a partner alongside UA. Production was put on hold after Cavill suffered a training injury and is expected to resume in early 2026. United Artists is exploring broader rights and franchise possibilities for the 1986 original. McIntyre’s casting reunites him with Stahelski’s 87Eleven stunt team and Bautista and follows his feature debut in The Killer’s Game as he develops a film career.
