Salah, Russo Win FWA Player of the Year Awards
Mohamed Salah has been named the Football Writers' Association (FWA) Player of the Year for the third time, tying Thierry Henry's record, after scoring 28 Premier League goals and providing 18 assists to help Liverpool win their 20th English title. Salah received nearly 90% of the vote, the largest margin this century, ahead of Virgil van Dijk, Alexander Isak, and Declan Rice. Arsenal's Alessia Russo won the women's FWA award after scoring 12 Women's Super League goals and eight in the Champions League, helping Arsenal reach the final. Russo finished ahead of Khadija Shaw and Mariona Caldentey in the voting. Both Salah and Russo will receive their awards at a ceremony in London on May 22. Their performances this season have further established their reputations in English football.
