Petunia, a 2-year-old hairless English-French bulldog mix from Eugene, Oregon, was crowned the 2025 winner of the World's Ugliest Dog Contest at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in California, receiving a $5,000 prize and a Mug Root Beer merchandise deal. The event, which attracted hundreds of spectators, aims to promote animal adoption and celebrate the unique beauty of rescue and shelter dogs. Petunia, who was surrendered by a breeder, requires daily coconut oil and sunscreen due to her hairlessness and is described as a 'world-class snuggler.' Second place went to Jinny Lu, a rescued pug from Korea who also received the Spirit Award for overcoming adversity.
