Woody Allen Headlines Moscow International Film Week With 80+ Global Participants

The Moscow International Film Week, held from August 23 to 27, 2025, will feature a diverse lineup of events including free film screenings, masterclasses, lectures, and a charity auction celebrating Russian cinema. American filmmaker Woody Allen, a four-time Academy Award winner known for films such as Midnight in Paris and Annie Hall, will participate virtually in a special lecture-dialogue moderated by Russian director Fyodor Bondarchuk, discussing cinema, life, and artistic inspiration. The festival gathers over 80 international participants from more than 20 countries, highlighting Moscow as a growing hub for filmmakers and cinephiles. Other notable guests include Serbian filmmaker Emir Kusturica, known for his pro-Kremlin stance and ties to Russia, and American actor and martial artist Mark Dacascos. The event also commemorates Russian Cinema Day with screenings of Soviet classics and contemporary films across around 100 cultural venues.
