Prime Video Greenlights Mike Flanagan's 'Carrie' Series

Amazon Prime Video has officially greenlit a TV series adaptation of Stephen King's 'Carrie,' with Mike Flanagan serving as writer, executive producer, and showrunner. The eight-episode series will star Summer H. Howell as Carrie White and Siena Agudong as her rival, Sue Snell. This reimagining of the story follows Carrie, a socially isolated high-schooler, as she navigates the challenges of adolescence and discovers her telekinetic powers after her father's death. Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, emphasized the story's enduring relevance and expressed confidence in Flanagan's vision. Production is set to begin this summer in Vancouver, continuing Amazon's trend of adapting MGM's film catalog for television. Flanagan's previous work in horror has garnered significant acclaim, positioning him as a leading voice in the genre.
