Etihad Airways, Burjeel Holdings Sign MoU to Boost Abu Dhabi Medical Tourism

Burjeel Holdings and Etihad Airways have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing Abu Dhabi's status as a global hub for medical tourism. This partnership will create referral pathways for international patients, allowing for direct case management and access to healthcare professionals. Additionally, Burjeel will provide comprehensive healthcare coverage for Etihad's workforce and their families across its extensive hospital network in the UAE. The collaboration comes as the UAE experiences significant growth in its medical tourism sector, with wellness tourism expenditure increasing from $2.1 billion in 2020 to $5.4 billion in 2022. Both organizations aim to streamline medical services for international travelers seeking specialized treatment in Abu Dhabi, ensuring high-quality healthcare solutions. Burjeel will also implement health awareness programs and wellness initiatives for Etihad employees to promote well-being.
