Taal Re-release Marks 25th Anniversary Celebration

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the iconic film 'Taal', director Subhash Ghai shared interesting anecdotes about the collaboration between composer A.R. Rahman and lyricist Anand Bakshi, who faced significant language barriers during the music creation process. Ghai recounted how neither artist could communicate effectively, with Bakshi not knowing English and Rahman not knowing Hindi, leading to a humorous initial meeting that resulted in 15 minutes of silence. Despite these challenges, they successfully collaborated, with Rahman composing the music first and Bakshi later providing the lyrics. Taal, featuring Aishwarya Rai, Anil Kapoor, and Akshaye Khanna, has been celebrated for its timeless soundtrack, including hits like 'Kariye Na' and 'Ishq Bina'. The film is set for a re-release in theaters on September 27, allowing fans to revisit its captivating love story and music. Additionally, Ghai revealed that Rahman was paid minimal fees for his work on the film, a fact the composer humorously acknowledged.
