Human Foot Found at Utah Fish Lake Linked to 1997 Missing Fisherman

A severed human foot was discovered inside a shoe on the shore of Fish Lake in Sevier County, Utah, by a man walking his dog on May 16, 2025. The Utah Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the bone was human, prompting a search and rescue effort the following day, which found no additional evidence. Authorities are investigating whether the foot belongs to David M. White, a fisherman who went missing while fishing on Fish Lake in 1997 after his boat was found unattended. DNA samples from one of White's children have been collected and sent for comparison to confirm the connection. The Utah Sheriff's Fish Lake Search and Rescue Conference scheduled for early June plans to include a search for more remains.
