Pensioners Access New Social Security Payments January

To qualify for this SSI payment, recipients must be 65 or older or disabled, and have low income and resources. Additionally, Social Security checks saw a 2.5% increase this month due to a cost-of-living adjustment, with some retirees benefiting from new legislation aimed at addressing reductions in their benefits. The Social Security Fairness Act, signed into law by President Biden, provides additional increases for affected workers and their spouses. For other retirees, another Social Security payment is scheduled for January 22, 2025, with eligibility requiring a retirement check accepted after May 1997 and birthdays between the 21st and 31st of any month.
