Metro Boomin Hires Memory Expert Ahead Sept Sexual Assault Trial

Metro Boomin has retained renowned psychologist Dr. Elizabeth Loftus, an expert in memory reliability, to testify in his upcoming civil sexual assault trial scheduled for September 2025. The lawsuit, filed by Vanessa LeMaistre, alleges that Metro Boomin drugged and sexually assaulted her in 2016, resulting in a pregnancy she later terminated; she also claims his 2017 song "Rap Saved Me" references the incident. Dr. Loftus' analysis highlights significant memory inconsistencies in LeMaistre's account, noting trauma, stress, and time may have distorted her recollections, and points out that LeMaistre sought further contact with Metro after the alleged assault. Loftus also observed that new details emerged in LeMaistre's complaint following an ayahuasca ceremony in 2024 and that she attempted to amend parts of her medical records connected to the abortion. Additionally, psychologist Dr. April D. Thames, also hired by Metro's defense, suggested LeMaistre may suffer from PTSD and borderline personality disorder, emphasizing variability in trauma responses. Metro Boomin denies the allegations, calling the lawsuit a "pure shakedown" and maintains the encounter was consensual.
