Telangana High Court Upholds Group-I Exam Dates

The Telangana High Court has cleared the way for the Group-I Main Examination of the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) scheduled from October 21 to 27, 2024, dismissing multiple petitions that sought to postpone the exam. The court emphasized that the future of over 32,000 candidates could not be jeopardized due to the concerns of a few individuals, particularly noting that most candidates had already downloaded their hall tickets. Despite ongoing protests and apprehensions among aspirants regarding the recent Government Order (GO 29) affecting reservation policies, the court upheld the examination process, citing a need to avoid further despair among candidates who have faced repeated delays. The TGPSC has stated that biometric attendance will be mandatory for candidates during the exams. The aspirants, however, continue to express their concerns through protests, arguing that the government has not addressed their issues adequately. Legal challenges regarding the examination process and the GO remain pending, indicating ongoing uncertainty in the backdrop of the upcoming exams.
