Harpal Singh, an accused in the April firing incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan's residence, alleged that a prison doctor demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 for medical treatment of his fractured finger. Singh made the claim during a court appearance via video link, stating he had been suffering from the injury for eight months and was only receiving inadequate treatment at Taloja Central Prison. The special court under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA) has directed the chief medical officer (CMO) to respond to these allegations and provide necessary treatment. The court has set a deadline for the CMO to submit a report by October 7. The incident in question involved two men firing shots outside Galaxy Apartments, with the police attributing the attack to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Another accused, Mohammad Chaudhary, also reported a medical issue, prompting the court to ensure he receives treatment as well.
