Nationwide Celebrations for MLK Day 2024

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is being commemorated on Monday 17 January 2024, with nationwide events including the inaugural Martin Luther King Jr Basketball Tournament in Chicago, a candlelight vigil, and a keynote event with King's biographer Jonathan Eig. In Washington, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority will offer free shuttle buses over the weekend of 14-15 January, and the National Mall will host a festival with a march, an Expo, a concert, and the Martin Luther King Jr Memorial dedication.
