Cyclist Dies Barnsley Hit-and-Run Driver Arrested

A 43-year-old cyclist died after being struck by a silver BMW on Pontefract Road in Barnsley, near the junction with Beevor Court. The driver of the BMW failed to stop and fled the scene, but was later arrested; a 24-year-old man faces charges of death by dangerous driving and failing to stop. The cyclist was treated at the roadside but succumbed to his injuries, and his family has been informed and is receiving support from police.
