Capitals Re-Sign Forward Beauvillier To Two-Year $5.5M Deal
The Washington Capitals have re-signed forward Anthony Beauvillier to a two-year, $5.5 million contract, averaging $2.75 million per year. Beauvillier, 28, was acquired by the Capitals from the Pittsburgh Penguins during the 2024-25 season and contributed 25 points across 81 games between the two teams, including six points in 10 playoff games for Washington. Known for his scoring ability and speed, Beauvillier played a key role in the Capitals' playoff run, often centering the top line and earning praise for his performance in critical games. The Capitals pursued Beauvillier after missing out on free agent Nikolaj Ehlers, and despite initial salary cap concerns, GM Chris Patrick finalized the deal to keep the winger in Washington. Over his NHL career, Beauvillier has accumulated 271 points in 631 regular-season games with multiple teams and has represented Canada internationally. This signing aims to strengthen the Capitals' middle-six forward group as they build on their recent successful season.
