Apple has officially confirmed that all four models of the iPhone 16 will feature 8GB of RAM, a first for the company, as part of its aim to enhance performance for its new AI features termed 'Apple Intelligence'. Senior Vice President Johny Srouji stated that this increase in RAM would support the advanced capabilities of the A18 and A18 Pro chips, which are central to the iPhone 16's design. The previous iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models had 6GB of RAM, limiting their ability to run Apple Intelligence features. Srouji emphasized that the decision to disclose the RAM specifications was driven by the need to optimize performance and user experience. Additionally, the increase in memory is expected to improve the performance of demanding applications, including gaming.
