North Lincolnshire Green Energy Park Receives Development Consent Order

North Lincolnshire Green Energy Park Limited has received development consent for an energy recovery facility in Flixborough, which will process up to 650,000 tonnes of refuse-derived fuel annually to generate electricity and thermal energy. The application underwent a six-month examination process, where local communities were involved, and a recommendation was made to the Secretary of State in August 2023. Concurrently, Downing Renewable Developments secured planning approvals for two battery energy storage projects in the UK, which aim to support the transition to renewable energy and contribute to net zero goals. The 40MW project in Heanor and the 100MW project in Rowley Regis received no public objections, showcasing DRD's community engagement efforts.
