UK House Prices Show Varied Regional Growth
Stoke-on-Trent topped the UK house price growth charts with a 17.2% increase, driven by buyers seeking more affordable locations amidst rising mortgage costs. Slough and Oldham also saw significant growth at 14.9% and 14.6% respectively, while Huddersfield experienced the largest decline at 6.6%. London's overall house prices rose by 3.6%, but several boroughs, including Southwark and Ealing, saw declines due to affordability issues. Regionally, Northern Ireland led with a 10.6% increase, while the South East had the slowest growth at 1.8%. Despite a general price increase of 3.4% in the UK, the North East saw house prices grow seven times more than London. Looking ahead, Zoopla predicts a 2.5% rise in average UK house prices by the end of 2025, with regional variations expected.
