Operation DELTA Rescues Victims, Arrests Six in Arkansas

Operation DELTA, a coordinated human trafficking recovery effort, was conducted in West Memphis, Arkansas, on May 29 by the Arkansas Human Trafficking Council and partner agencies. The operation led to the arrest of six suspects—five on charges of promoting prostitution and one for being a felon in possession of a firearm—after one suspect was apprehended following an attempted escape. Authorities rescued nine immediate victims, providing them with medical care and support, and identified 29 additional local victims during the operation. A child was removed from exploitative conditions and placed in protective custody with other minors, while adult victims also received assistance. The initiative is part of an ongoing, victim-centered strategy to combat human trafficking statewide. The operation involved collaboration among law enforcement, nonprofits, and community partners through a grant-funded program.
