New York Liberty Raise First WNBA Banner, Receive 2024 Championship Rings

The New York Liberty celebrated their first-ever WNBA championship by raising their inaugural championship banner and receiving custom-designed rings in a sold-out ceremony at Barclays Center before their 2025 season opener against the Las Vegas Aces. This historic title marks the Liberty as the last of the original WNBA franchises still playing to win a championship, ending a 28-year pursuit and delivering New York City's first professional basketball title since 1973. The championship rings, designed by Jason of Beverly Hills and Brooklyn-based artists, pay tribute to the team's resilience and the spirit of New York, featuring the Liberty’s signature torch and a symbolic leaf motif. Liberty co-owner Clara Wu Tsai and star players like Sabrina Ionescu and Breanna Stewart expressed gratitude to fans and emphasized ambitions for more championships. As the new WNBA season begins, the Liberty aim to repeat as champions, joining a select group of teams to achieve back-to-back titles, while the league continues to grow in popularity with emerging and veteran stars.
