French Streamer Dies During 10-Day Torture Livestream in France

French social media influencer and former soldier Raphael Graven, known online as Jean Pormanove or JP, died during a brutal 10-day live stream challenge on the Kick platform, where he was subjected to continuous physical abuse, sleep deprivation, and humiliation by fellow streamers. The live stream, which lasted nearly 300 hours, ended when Graven was found motionless on camera, prompting immediate investigation by French authorities. The abuse included severe beatings, choking, spitting, and the ingestion of toxic substances, all reportedly monetized through viewer donations exceeding 36,000 euros. Despite his distress signals and messages indicating he felt captive and overwhelmed, the violence continued, raising serious concerns about the culture of extreme content in online streaming. French government officials, including the Deputy Minister for Digital Affairs, have condemned the incident and urged platforms to enforce stricter content regulations to protect vulnerable users.
