Five-alarm fire devastates church, two buildings in Lynn

A five-alarm fire broke out on Friday night in Lynn, Massachusetts, affecting three buildings, including the Iglesia Evangelica Congregacional church, which sustained significant damage. Firefighters faced challenges in containing the blaze due to strong winds and slippery conditions from hoses, leading to the evacuation of nearby buildings for safety. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, but six residents have been displaced. Fire Chief Dan Sullivan noted that firefighters utilized aerial equipment to combat the flames, as conditions inside were hazardous. Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire, which began around 8:30 p.m. The Red Cross and Salvation Army are assisting displaced residents.
