Cannes 2025 Jury Features Halle Berry, Payal Kapadia

The 78th Cannes Film Festival, scheduled for May 13-24, 2025, will feature a diverse, women-majority jury led by acclaimed French actress Juliette Binoche. Notable jury members include American actress Halle Berry, Indian filmmaker Payal Kapadia, American actor Jeremy Strong, South Korean director Hong Sangsoo, Italian actress Alba Rohrwacher, Mexican filmmaker Carlos Reygadas, Congolese director Dieudo Hamadi, and French-Moroccan writer Leïla Slimani. The jury will select the winner of the Palme d'Or from 21 films in competition, highlighting the festival's ongoing efforts to address gender inequality and promote a global representation in cinema. This marks a return to Cannes for Binoche, who first attended the festival four decades ago. The selection of a women-majority jury comes as Cannes organizers face pressure to increase female representation and respond to calls for action following industry #MeToo investigations. The festival will also honor Robert De Niro with an Honorary Palme d'Or and feature Amélie Bonnin's debut film as its opener.
