Benjamin Glaze Arrested for Aggravated Child Porn Charges

Benjamin Glaze, a former 'American Idol' contestant who gained notoriety for being kissed by Katy Perry during his audition, has been arrested on charges of possessing child sexual abuse material. The Tulsa Police Department's investigation, initiated by a tip in April 2024, led to a search warrant and the discovery of over 700 illicit images and videos on Glaze's smartphone. Glaze, 26, was taken into custody, charged with aggravated possession of child sexual abuse material, and released on a $50,000 bond. This arrest starkly contrasts with the wholesome image he projected during his 2018 'American Idol' appearance. Glaze had previously stated he felt uncomfortable with the kiss from Perry, as he wanted his first kiss to be special due to his conservative upbringing. Despite this, he later clarified that he did not consider the incident with Perry to be sexual harassment.
