Ija Monae Hall, a 29-year-old operator of His Loving Hands Home Childcare in Wichita, faces child abuse charges after her foster child suffered severe second-degree burns from being forced to sit in a hot bath. The incident, which occurred on September 5, resulted in the child being hospitalized with burns to multiple areas, prompting an investigation by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE). Hall initially provided inconsistent explanations to medical staff about the child's injuries and later admitted to smacking him, causing bruising. Following the incident, both of Hall's children were taken into protective custody, revealing further signs of neglect and abuse. The KDHE has since suspended Hall's daycare license due to the severity of the case, which reflects a broader concern for child safety in such facilities. Hall has been released on bond after her arrest at a Child Advocacy Center.
