Harrisburg, Yankton Advance to South Dakota Class A Baseball Championship

The 2025 Class 'A' American Legion baseball state tournament in Watertown has advanced to the final matchup between Harrisburg and Yankton. Harrisburg, seeded seventh, remains undefeated after a 7-3 win over top-seeded Rapid City Post 22 and will need only one win to secure the championship. Yankton earned its spot in the finals by eliminating Rapid City Post 320 with a 6-1 victory and must win twice to claim the title. Earlier in the tournament, Rapid City Post 320 caused an upset by defeating top seed Rapid City Post 22, and Harrisburg blanked second-seeded Yankton 8-0. The tournament follows a double-elimination format and has featured strong performances from lower-seeded teams, including reigning champion Renner and host Watertown. The championship game is scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m. at Watertown Stadium.
