Atkin, Li share historic women’s halfpipe Crystal Globe in Calgary

In a historic finish to the 2024/25 FIS Freeski World Cup, Britain's Zoe Atkin and China's Li Fanghui shared the women's Crystal Globe, marking the first time two athletes have jointly claimed the title. Li secured her first World Cup win in Calgary with a score of 90.50, while Atkin finished second with 87.75 points, both athletes ending the season with equal points. Meanwhile, in the men's competition, Alex Ferreira clinched his second consecutive Crystal Globe after finishing third in the Calgary event, accumulating 360 points throughout the season. Ferreira's podium finish was behind American Nick Goepper and New Zealand's Finley Melville-Ives, who won the event with a score of 92.75. Ferreira expressed gratitude for the competitive challenges he faced this season, which he feels have made him a better skier. The season highlighted emerging talents like Melville-Ives while also celebrating the achievements of seasoned competitors like Ferreira, Atkin, and Li.
